The New York Jets have pulled another headline making move, as they acquired WR Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders. Adams, 31, has been inactive in the last few games, as he's been dealing with a hamstring injury. The Gang Green will send a conditional 3rd round draft pick to the Raiders in exchange for the 6-time Pro Bowler and 3-time first team All Pro. This pick will become a 2nd rounder if Adams makes the All Pro team or the Jets make it to the AFC Championship Game.
Adams has 18 catches for 209 yards and a touchdown in three games with the Raiders this season. He will be reunited with his old buddy, QB Aaron Rodgers, who was his teammate in Green Bay. Rodgers and Adams connected for 622 receptions, 7,590 yards and 69 TDs when they were Packers teammates in 2014-2021.
It also looks like WR Mike Williams, who had a few costly drops in the last two games, will be on his way out.
Once again Woody Johnson's Jets are trying to create a win now team by bringing an aging superstar instead of gradually building through the draft and smart free agent acquisitions. All the previous similar attempts have failed, we'll wait and see if this one becomes any different...
