The New York Jets have reportedly agreed to sign DT Solomon Thomas, a former #3 overall draft pick of the San Francisco 49ers in 2017, to a 1-year deal. Thomas, 26, should be familiar with Robert Saleh's defensive system, as Saleh was 49ers defensive coordinator when they drafted him. He had a rather disappointing 4-year career with the 49ers, recording only 6 sacks in 48 games (30 starts) before tearing his ACL in Week 2 of the 2020 season.
Last year he appeared in all 17 games for the Las Vegas Raiders, recording 34 tackles (17 solo) and 3.5 sacks. Thomas also forced 2 fumbles and defended 2 passes.
