The New York Jets addressed another need via free agency, as they agreed to a 3-year contract with CB D.J. Reed. The deal is reportedly for $33M. Reed, 25, was originally drafted in the 5th round by San Francisco where he spent the first two seasons of his career before being claimed off waivers by Seattle in 2020. He started in 22 games in two seasons with the Seahawks, intercepting 4 passes and defending 17. According to ProFootballFocus, last year Reed had a career-best 78.6 grade and an 85.8 grade in run defense.
Reed should be familiar with the Jets' defensive system. Robert Saleh was the 49ers' defensive coordinator when they drafted Reed in 2018.
