The New York Jets have reportedly reached an agreement with WR Corey Davis, formerly of the Tennessee Titans. Davis, 26, is expected to sign a 3-year deal worth $37.5M, which includes $27M in guaranteed money.
Davis was the fifth overall selection in the 2017 draft but hasn't lived up to the expectations. He had his best season in 2020 when he caught 65 passes for 984 yards, 5 TDs. Over four years with the Titans, Davis has a total of 2,851 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns in 56 games (48 starts).
While Davis was one of the top receiver available in free agency, the Gang Green still need a true #1 receiver, which Davis is not. Although the Jets still have hopes for second year receiver Denzel Mims whose rookie season was slowed by injuries.
