According to various sources, the New York Jets are bringing back CB Mo Claiborne who became an unrestricted free agent at the end of last season. Claiborne, 28, has agreed to a 1-year $7M contract to return to the Gang Green.
Last year the Jets brought Claiborne in to replace departed CB Darrelle Revis. Claiborne started in 15 games, recording 43 tackles, defending 8 passes and intercepting one. He's expected to start alongside recently signed CB Trumaine Johnson. The Gang Green also have second-year S Jamal Adams and S Marcus Maye to give Todd Bowles a pretty good defensive backfield.
Yesterday the Jets filled their hole at the kicker position, as they agreed to a 1-year deal with K Cairo Santos. Santos played for the Chiefs from 2014 until they cut him last October. He then joined the Bears, but kicked in just two games before landing on the injured reserve with a groin injury. He converted 4 of 5 field goal attempts last year.
Meanwhile, former Jets TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins signed a 2-year deal with the Jaguars.
