The New York Jets went offense in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, as they selected TE Mason Taylor from LSU. Taylor, 6'5", 255 lbs, is the son of HOF DE Jason Taylor who played for the Jets in 2010. He started in 37 games for LSU over a 3-year span, setting school's single-season record for a TE with 55 receptions in 2024. He has a lot of upside and will most likely be a Week 1 starter for the Gang Green, filling the hole left by departed TE Tyler Conklin.
The Jets reportedly considered taking Penn State TE Tyler Warren in the 1st round but ultimately chose to select OT Armand Membou instead.
According to scouting reports, Mason Taylor can also handle blocking duties in addition to being a very capable route runner.
