The New York Jets have agreed on a 4-year contract extension with All-Pro DT Quinnen Williams, who had voiced displeasure with his contract situation on quite a few occasions. The deal is reportedly valued at $96M over four years, including $66M in guaranteed money. It makes Williams the second-highest paid defensive tackle in the NFL behind Aaron Donald. Williams' $66M in guaranteed money is the largest guarantee in Jets history, topping $51M the Gang Green gave to LB C.J. Mosley back in 2019.
Williams, 25, made his first Pro Bowl and All-Pro team in 2022 after recording 12 sacks, 28 quarterback hits, 55 tackles (12 for loss), defending four passes and forcing two fumbles.
Williams did not participate this spring in the offseason voluntary workout program but is now expected to be in training camp that opens on July 19.
