The New York Jets selected one of the fastest players in this year's draft, WR Elijah Moore from Ole Miss, with their #34 overall draft pick. Moore, 5'9", 185 lbs, ran 40 yards in 4.35 seconds at the Ole Miss Pro Day in March. He caught 86 passes for 1,193 yards, 8 TDs in just 8 games in 2020. He averaged 13 catches and 200 yards per game in his last three college games.
Moore is projected to play in the slot in the NFL. He's small but makes up for it with his speed and precise route running. He's not afraid to go over the middle and possesses run-after-catch ability.
Free agent signing WR Corey Davis is projected as a starter on the outside along with last year's 2nd round pick, WR Denzel Mims. The addition of Moore brings playmaking ability from the slot position, as well as from the backfield.
This selection most likely means that WR Jamison Crowder's time in New York is over. Crowder is due $10M this season.
