The Adam Gase circus is officially over, as the New York Jets have fired Gase after his Jets produced the second worst season in team's history (2-14). Most of us agreed that it was a mistake to hire Gase in the first place, and it took two years to finally get rid of one of the worst head coaches in the New York Jets' history.
Gase, 42, posted a 9-23 record over his two years with the team, missing post season both times. The Jets also hired him to help QB Sam Darnold develop into a franchise quarterback we hoped he'd become when the Gang Green drafted him three seasons ago. Now it looks like Darnold, who threw two interceptions in the season finale against the Pats and arguably endured the worst season of his short professional career, will follow Gase out the door as one of the biggest busts in team's history.
The Jets, who haven't made the playoffs since Rex Ryan's second season in 2010, will now start looking for Gase's replacement.
