The Gang Green's fortunes have gone from bad to worse, as the team announced that starting QB Sam Darnold will miss Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals. QB Joe Flacco, who hasn't started an NFL game since Week 8 of the 2019 season, will take his place behind the center.
Flacco, 35, was signed by the Jets in the offseason to serve as an experienced backup for Sam Darnold. He replaced Darnold for a few plays last week and completed 2 of 2 passes for 16 yards.
Darnold said on Monday that he was feeling better after suffering an AC joint sprain. Head coach Adam Gase called him week-to-week moving forward.
