RB Le'Veon Bell's fortunes have gone from bad to worse, as the Gang Green placed him on IR earlier today. Bell, who injured his hamstring in the season opener against the Bills, will be eligible to return in 3 weeks. Meanwhile, the Jets will most likely start 37-year old RB Frank Gore on Sunday against the 49ers.
Bell was hurt in the second quarter but he remained in the game for a few plays in the third quarter. After the game, Gase publicly second-guessed himself, saying he was "mad" that he let Bell continue.
LB Blake Cashman (groin) is also expected to miss multiple games, leaving only one healthy inside linebacker. The Jets could call up LB Alec Ogletree from the practice squad.
