One day after releasing Darryl Roberts, Jets GM Joe Douglas added a bit of depth to the depleted secondary. CB Pierre Desir, who was recently released by the Colts, has agreed to a 1-year deal with the Gang Green. Desir, 29, spent last three seasons in Indianapolis, starting in 29 games. Last season he had a career high 3 interceptions and 11 pass defenses.
One year ago Desir signed a 3-year $22.9M contract extensions with the Colts, but his play deteriorated as the season progressed prompting Indy to release him. He played in 12 games last season (11 starts) and allowed 5 touchdown passes and a 95.6 passer rating.
In other news, the Jets signed C/OG Josh Andrews last night, also a former Colt. He's a backup who never started a game in the NFL. Andrews was involved in just 6% of offensive snaps last year and 3% in 2018.
