The New York Jets continued revamping their offensive line, as they agreed to terms with OG Greg Van Roten. Van Roten, 30, is a 5-year veteran who spent previous three seasons with the Carolina Panthers. He started all 16 games in 2018 and the first 11 games of last season. Van Roten suffered a dislocated toe in Week 12 and was placed on IR shortly thereafter. He had no penalties in 2018 and only one in 2019. He allowed just one sack in 2019.
Van Roten went undrafted and was signed by Green Bay in 2012. He played in 10 games for the Packers before being released in 2014. After being signed and subsequently released by Seattle in 2014, Van Roten went to the CFL where he spent the next two years.
Current Jets offensive line: LT George Fant, LG Alex Lewis, C Connor McGovern, RG Greg Van Roten, RT Chuma Edoga.
We'll post the terms of Van Roten's contract as soon as they become available.
