QB Luke Falk, who started the last two game for the Jets, has been waived earlier today. It's quite a surprise, considering that the Gang Green only have QB David Fales to back up Sam Darnold against the Cowboys tomorrow. Falk completed 47 of 73 passes for 416 yards with no touchdowns and three interceptions in his two starts. He was sacked 16 times, including nine by the Eagles last week.
David Fales, 29, was signed by the Jets on September 18, then released five days later. The Gang Green then re-signed Fales on October 4. He played in one game for the Bears in 2016 and in two games for the Dolphins in 2017. Fales played at the end of last week’s game when Falk was being tested for a concussion. He was sacked once by the Eagles and did not throw any passes. His career totals are 31 of 48, 287 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT.
The release of Falk created room for LB Brandon Copeland, who is due to return from a four-game PED suspension. Last season Copeland had a breakout year, starting in 10 games and registering 5.0 sacks.
