Well, Jets fans, this team sure knows how to make us even more miserable than we already are. Having plenty of potential head coaching candidates to choose from, including a Super Bowl winning coach, they settled on the only one with a losing record. Adam Gase, who was fired by the Dolphins after missing the playoffs two seasons in a row, will be the next Jets head coach. He has a 23-25 head coaching record, with 5 of those wins coming against Todd Bowles' Jets. Apparently, the Jonhnson brothers were so impressed with Gase's 5-1 record against the Jets that they hired him over the likes of Mike McCarthy.
Gase, 40, served as offensive coordinator for the Broncos and Bears before being hired by the Dolphins in 2016. He lead the team to a 10-6 record and a playoff berth in his first year. Miami lost to the Steelers, 30-12, in the Wild Card Game, ending Gase's one and only playoff appearance. It went downhill from there on. Miami missed the playoffs in 2017 and 2018, posting 6-10 and 7-9 records. In his last game before being fired, Gase's team got blown out by the Buffalo Bills, 42-17.
Some fans briefly edited Gase's Wikipedia page to express their frustration with this awful hire....
