QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, whose contract dispute with the Gang Green has been making headlines all offseason, will be back in green and white after all. According to ESPN, the Jets reached a 1-year agreement with Fitzpatrick right before the start of training camp. The Jets' signal caller will receive $12M, fully guaranteed.
The Jets acquired Fitzpatrick last year via a trade with the Houston Texans. He ended up having arguably the best season of his career, passing for 3,905 yards (career high), 31 TD (career high) and 15 INT.
After last season the Jets tried to sign Fitzpatrick to a multiyear contract, including a 3-year, $24M offer that included $15M in guaranteed money. No other team wanted Fitzpatrick, but he still refused to accept what he believed was a below-market deal. He made $3.25 million in 2015.
