DL Muhammad Wilkerson's contract standoff with the Jets is finally over, as the team signed him to a massive 5-year deal. According to various sources, Wilkerson's new contract will pay him roughly $17M per season over five seasons. The deal is worth more than $85M total, including $54M in guaranteed money over three years and $37M fully guaranteed through year two.
Last season, Wilkerson, 26, led the team with 12.0 sacks and earned his first Pro Bowl selection. After the season Wilkerson refused to sign his $15.7M frachise tag and might have been heading to a training camp holdout.
Now the Gang Green just has to do something about their contract dispute with QB Ryan Fitzpatrick who has been refusing all of their offers thus far.
