The New York Jets secondary will have a completely different look in the upcoming season. After bringing back CB Darrelle Revis and CB Antonio Cromartie, in addition to signing CB Buster Skrine, the Jets added another piece tonight, as they agreed to terms with S Marcus Gilchrist. Gilchrist, 26, spent the first four years of his NFL career with the Chargers. He started in every game last two years and missed just two games in his entire career.
The deal is reportedly for four years and will be officially signed on Friday. Last season Gilchrist intercepted 1 pass, defended 5 and also forced 2 fumbles. Last season he played 401 snaps in the slot, 306 at strong safety and 201 at free safety, according to ESPN Stats & Information.
Gilchrist is expected to start alongside S Calvin Pryor who had a pretty disappointing rookie season last year.
