The New York Jets re-signed three of their would be free agents in recent days. TE Jeff Cumberland received a 3-year contract worth $5.7M. CB Darrin Walls was re-signed to a 2-year deal worth $1.9M. CB Ellis Lankster was re-signed to a 2-year deal worth $1.6M. The Jets didn't give them signing bonuses, choosing to go with roster bonuses instead. This will protect the Gang Green from having any dead money in the future in case if any of these players get cut before their contracts run out.
Jeff Cumberland: 3 years, $5.7M total. 2014 - $900,000 base salary, $1,000,000 roster bonus. 2015 - $1,900,000 base salary. 2016 - $1,900,000 base salary.
Darrin Walls: 2 years, $1,9M total. 2014 - $650,000 base salary, $350,000 roster bonus. 2015 - $900,000 base salary.
Ellis Lankster: 2 years, $1.6M total. 2014 - $730,000 base salary, $155,000 roster bonus. 2015 - $745,000 base salary.
