After being snubbed in the Pro Bowl voting, DE Muhammad Wilkerson got his redemption today as he was selected to the second All-Pro team. Wilkerson had a tremendous year for the Jets. He registered 64 tackles (43 solo), 1 interception and team high 10.5 sacks. He also forced 2 fumbles and defended 3 passes.
Wilkerson was selected to the second All-Pro team as a defensive tackle, not as a defensive end which was his category in the Pro Bowl voting. He is traditionally labeled a 3-4 defensive end, but given the multiple looks of Rex Ryan’s defense and how often Wilkerson lines up inside, he could either be called a DE or DT.
Wilkerson was also named Jets' MVP this season, as voted by his teammates.
