WR Santonio Holmes is active for today's season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He's expected to play on a limited basis against former Jets CB Darrelle Revis. Last season Holmes missed 12 games with a foot injury and did not play in preseason.
The New York Jets have declared the following players as inactive for today's game: QB Mark Sanchez, LB Danny Lansanah, LB Scott Solomon, OT Ben Ijalana, LB Quinton Coples, OG William Campbell, OT Oday Aboushi.
It's also been reported that QB Mark Sanchez, who was injured in the preseason game against the Giants, has a partially torn labrum in his right throwing shoulder. He will seek a second opinion this week from Dr. James Andrews.
