Accoding to the New York Post, WR Santonio Holmes has told friends that he expects to miss at least the first four games of the season. This does not come as a surprise, as earlier this year Holmes hinted that he might not play this season at all. In any case, the Gang Green will most likely release Holmes, who's signed through 2015 and scheduled to make $7.5M in base salary this season.
The Jets have been preparing for this scenario, as they signed veteran WR Braylon Edwards right before training camp. Second year WR Stephen Hill has shown some promise in camp after going invisible for the most part of last season.
In other news, the Jets released WR Jordan White, whom they selected in the 7th round of the 2012 Draft. White will undergo surgery to fix a sports hernia Tuesday and will miss entire preseason. The Jets have reached an injury settlement with the player.
