The New York Jets released NT Sione Pouha this morning, clearing up an additional $3.83M of salary cap space. Pouha, who signed a 3-year deal before the 2012 season, was due to have his $4.9M base salary become fully guaranteed on March 15. This move most likely means that the Jets are going to re-sign DL Mike DeVito and move him into Pouha's position.
Also, according to various sources, the Jets are getting ready to trade CB Darrelle Revis in the next few days. Owner Woody Johnson has no intention of signing Revis to a long-term extension, leaving the team with two options of either trading him now at the right price or see him walk away next year as a free agent.
The Jets are reportedly already have one "good" offer on the table. This offer, however, could go away if the unnamed team that made it will sign a free agent cornerback once the market opens later today.
