According to a report on the NFL Network, the New York Jets are out of the race to sign CB Nnamdi Asomugha. So, it looks like the 3-day saga is finally over and the Gang Green can move on to address their other needs. There's still an unresolved situation with the other starting wide receiver. The Jets could also upgrade their linebackers and defensive line. One player, especially a cornerback, no matter how good he is, will not win a championship. It would also be pretty stupid to have 20% of the entire salary cap space tied up to two cornerbacks.
This is a good decision by the Jets front office who just grew impatient with Asomugha and his handlers who have been using other teams to raise the price. In fact, they should have done it last night when it became pretty apparent that Asomugha and Co. were just waiting for more teams to jump in.
Meanwhile, the Jets signed another draft pick - RB Bilal Powell who was drafted in the 4th round. He will be wearing #29. The Gang Green still have to sign three more draft picks.
