It looks like it's the Jets vs. the Texans in the battle to sign CB Nnamdi Asomugha. There are several reports that Houston is going all-out to land the top prize of this year's free agency. They are offering Asomugha a contract with an average of $12-14M a year, which is more than the Jets are paying CB Darrelle Revis. The Gang Green are about $10M under the salary cap and it might be problematic to match or beat Houston's offer.
The San Francisco 49ers, who have already signed all of their draft picks, are believed to be also in the hunt. However, there's no information if they have made an offer to Asomugha.
Meanwhile, WR Braylon Edwards tweeted yesterday that his return to the Jets was highly unlikely. He deleted his tweet, however, a few minutes later.
