According to PK Nick Folk's agents, the kicker is coming back to the New York Jets. Folk, 26, signed with the Jets prior to the 2010 season after spending the previous three seasons in Dallas. He converted 30 of 39 field goal attempts (76.9%) and all 37 extra points. Last year Folk also scored the longest field goal of his career - a 56-yarder against the Broncos.
Also, WFAN reports that the Jets made a "substantial" offer to free agent CB Nnamdi Asomugha of the Oakland Raiders. Asomugha, 30, is one of the best cornerbacks in the league. if the Jets manage to land him, they will have arguably the best tandem of cornerbacks in the NFL - Asomugha and Revis.
As we reported earlier, Holmes' cap number in 2011 will be just $2.45M, which leaves the Jets with plenty of cap room to go after Asomugha and possibly WR Randy Moss.
