Earlier today we reported that the Jets made an offer to OT Damien Woody to come back for at least one more season. According to later reports, however, Woody decided to retire from the NFL, prompting the Gang Green to quickly re-sign OT Wayne Hunter. Hunter, 30, started at right tackle in the playoffs after Woody went down with an injury and performed admirably.
The deal is reportedly for 4 years but will not be official until Friday, as Friday is the first day when NFL teams can actually sign free agents.
Also, the Jets made an offer to WR Santonio Holmes who appears to be their number one re-signing priority.
The Gang Green are also interested in Oakland's CB Nnamdi Asomugha whom they would love to pair with CB Darrelle Revis, creating possibly the best ever tandem of cornerbacks.
