According to various sources, the New York Jets might be interested in adding WR Randy Moss to their wide receiving corps when the lockout is lifted. WR Braylon Edwards and WR Santonio Holmes will both be unrestricted free agents if the 2010 free agency rules aren’t reinstated, and although the Jets have stated that they would want to keep them both, it might not be financially possible.
Moss, 34, is coming off the worst year of his 13-year career. He started last year in New England, was later traded to the Vikings only to be released a few weeks later and picked up by the Tennessee Titans. He still can be, however, a legitimate vertical threat, especially when he is motivated, which is something that Rex Ryan should be capable of doing.
Jets could also be using these rumors just to get Holmes to sign a contract and participate in offseason workouts. Edwards stated a few weeks ago that he would be willing to resign with the Jets even for less money.
