According to various sources, LB Jason Taylor has agreed in principle to sign a contract with the New York Jets, the team he so often bad mouthed in the past. ESPN's Adam Schefter writes it's a 2-year deal worth $13.75M, but the second year is irrelevant. So, it's really a 1-year, $3.75M contract.
Taylor, who's the league's active sack leader (127.5 career sacks), is expected to be in New York as early as Wednesday to finalize the deal.
Last season Taylor started in 15 games for the Miami Dolphins, recording 42 tackles (33 solo), 7.0 sacks, 1 INT, 3 forced fumbles.
This move most likely means that either LB Vernon Gholston or LB Bryan Thomas will be out of New York very shortly.
