According to ESPN, PK Jay Feely is expected to sigh a 2-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals where he will join another former Jet, S Kerry Rhodes. Feely's departure will leave the Jets with only PK Nick Folk, who was signed by the team on February 23. Folk was cut by the Cowboys in Week 15 last season after converting just 18 of 28 field goal attempts.
Feely, 33, made of 30 of 36 field goals last season, but missed a couple of them in the AFC Championship game against the Colts. The Jets asked Feely to take a pay cut despite his strong season and eventually, the parties were at an impasse.
Look for the Gang Green to add a few kickers before training camp, as Nick Folk was signed more as an insurance rather than a potential starter. Former Cardinals PK Neil Rackers could be a viable option for Rex Ryan’s team. Rackers, a Pro Bowler in 2005, made 16 of 17 field goals last season.
