The New York Jets traded S Kerry Rhodes to the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday for a 4th round pick in this year's draft and a 7th round pick in 2011. This move hardly comes as a surprise, as Rhodes has stated quite a few times that he wanted out and his soft playing style didn't exactly fit in Rex Ryan's aggressive defense.
The deal came a day after Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum said he expected Rhodes to participate in the offseason program in a few weeks, and play in New York this year and beyond "unless something changes."
Rhodes has four years left on his contract and was due a $2M roster bonus next week. He was expected to be one of the standouts on coach Rex Ryan's defense last year, but struggled and even lost his starting job for a couple of weeks.
