Wednesday injury report, Edwards to remain a Jet

DE Shaun Ellis and FB Tony Richardson missed today's practice due to injuries suffered last Sunday against the San Diego Chargers. Ellis has a broken hand but is expected to play against the Colts. Richardson has a rib injury and was held out for precautionary reasons. He should be ready for Sunday as well. RB Thomas Jones also sat out this practice session, just like in the previous few weeks.

LB David Harris (ankle) and LB Bart Scott (ankle) were both limited and Scott was seen walking with a rather noticeable limp. According to Rex Ryan, both of them should be fine and ready to go on Sunday.

QB Mark Sanchez  and WR Danny Woodhead both have knee injuries but were able to fully participate in the practice session. Expect them to be listed as "probable" on the final injury report.

According to Newsday, the Jets plan to retain WR Braylon Edwards next season as a restricted free agent. The Gang Green will place a contract tender that would require a team to give the Jets first- and third-round picks if it wants to sign Edwards. Edwards has played five NFL seasons, which would normally make him a free agent in the offseason. But because the NFL is not expected to have a salary cap next year because of stalled negotiations on a new agreement with the players union, free agency goes from four to six seasons, making Edwards a restricted free agent.
