QB Mark Sanchez practiced again with the first team this morning. He looked fine, showing no signs of the injury that sidelined him last week against Tampa Bay. Head coach Rex Ryan once again did not name Sanchez as the starter for Sunday's game against Atlanta but said that he was optimistic about the rookie's chances to return to the lineup.
When asked if any player has stepped up recently, Ryan mentioned CB Lito Sheppard and CB Darrelle Revis. Revis, in Ryan's opinion, should without a doubt be named the Defensive Player of the Year. 24-year old Revis is having the best season of his 3-year career. He has 27 defended passes, 6 interceptions and 1 touchdown.
Revis and LB Calvin Pace were among the nominees for the AFC Defensive Player of Week 14.
