The Jets are trailing 24-7 at halftime after what was probably the worst half played by the Gang Green this season. The Jets have gained only 34 yards thus far, while New England has racked up 272 yards against Rex Ryan's heralded defensive unit. New York has only 2 first downs and QB Mark Sanchez has thrown an equal number of completed passes and interceptions - two apiece. The Jets rookie is 2 of 9 for 15 yards, 0 TD, 2 INT.
The defense started the game well, forcing New England to go 3 and out on their first possession. As the game progressed, however, the Jets have been unable to stop WR Wes Welker who already has 8 receptions for 139 yards.
The offensive playcalling has also been absolutely terrible. It seems to be getting more and more predictable with each game and "trick" plays when WR Brad Smith takes a direct snap just don't fool anyone.
The only bright spot was a blocked punt by S Eric Smith that was recovered by Brad Smith and returned for a touchdown.
