The New York Jets made their first move in free agency as they reached an agreement with LB Bart Scott. Scott, a 7-year veteran, spent his entire career with the Baltimore Ravens. Last season he registered 82 total tackles (61 solo), 1.5 sacks and forced 2 fumbles.
Scott is expected to start in the middle of the Jets' 3-4 defense alongside with MLB David Harris. According to various sources, Scott will sign a 6-year contract worth $48M.
The Jets are also waiting to hear from Steelers OG Chris Kemoeatu, whom they made a $4M/year offer to early Friday morning.
The Gang Green also re-signed FB Tony Richardson. The three-time Pro Bowl selection signed a 1-year deal worth $500,000.
