Following the selection of TE Dustin Keller in last weekend's NFL Draft, the New York Jets waived TE Joe Kowalewski who played in 13 games last season and caught 5 passes for 18 yards, including 1 touchdown. Kowalewski clearly has become expandable as the Gang Green now have three decent tight ends on their roster: last year's starter Chris Baker, free agent acquisition Bubba Franks and Dustin Keller.
The Jets also signed a few undrafted free agents:
S Nate Lyles from the University of Virginia received a 3-year contract with a $2,000 signing bonus.
CB Alfred Phillips from Wagner University
RB Danny Woodhead from Chadron State
Additionally, the team waived RB Stacey Tutt who played in 9 games last season.
