The New York Jets have finally unloaded DT Dewayne Robertson, as they traded him to the Denver Broncos for a conditional 2009 draft choice, believed to be a mid-round pick, dependent upon Robertson's playing time.
Robertson, 26, is yet another dark spot in the Jets draft history. The Gang Green traded up to select him at #4 overall in the 2003 draft, hoping that he would become the next Warren Sapp. In 5 seasons in New York Robertson recorded only 14.5 sacks and forced just 3 fumbles. Had the Jets not been able to deal Robertson, he likely would have been cut in June. He was due a $3M bonus in June and has salary cap number of about $11M for this season.
