The "new" New York Jets continued the tradition that was started by the previous regime, as they patched their defensive line with yet another 30+ year old castoff. Just if the signings of Chester McGlockton and Steve Martin did not teach them anything, the Gang Green agreed to a 3-year contract with DE Kimo von Oelhoffen, formerly of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Kimo von Oelhoffen, who recently turned 35, is a 12-year veteran who has spent his last six seasons with the Steelers. Last season he recorded 35 tackles (22 solo) and 3.5 sacks in 16 games.
According to ESPN, von Oelhoffen's $9.2M contract includes a $3.2M signing bonus.
