Jets go offense in last rounds

After drafting four defensive players in the first five rounds (the Jets added SS Andre Maddox from North Carolina State in the fifth round), the Gang Green selected 3 offensive players in the last two rounds of the 2005 NFL Draft.
In round 6 the Jets grabbed RB Cedric Houston from Tennessee and TE/LS Joel Dreessen from Colorado State. Then, in the last round the Jets selected WR Harry Williams from Tuskegee.

SS Andre Maddox, 6'1", 205 lbs, played in 47 games for North Carolina State, recording 341 tackles (249 solos). He also had 8 sacks for minus-62 yards and 18 stops for losses of 69 yards. He also deflected 17 passes, caused a fumble and recovered another. His 341 tackles rank ninth on the school's all-time list.

RB Cedric Houston, 5'11", 225 lbs, played in 49 games (started in 27 times) for Tennessee. He carried 501 times for 2,634 yards (5.3 avg.) and 17 touchdowns. He also caught 39 passes for 369 yards (9.5 avg.) and a TD.

TE/LS Joel Dreessen, 6'4", 260 lbs, played 45 games for Colorado State, caught 123 passes for 1,295 yards (10.5 avg.) and 10 touchdowns. His 123 receptions rank eighth on the school's career-record list and his 10 scoring grabs are tied for ninth. He also recorded 12 tackles (nine solo). He is also a very capable snapper for punts and place kicks.

WR Harry Williams, 6'3", 180 lbs, had 83 career catches for 1,584 yards (19.1 yards per catch) and 8 touchdowns.
