In a rather unexpected roster move the New York Jets released RB Jonathan Reese and signed DT Daleroy Stewart.
Stewart, a 6'4", 298-pound defensive tackle out of Southern Mississippi University, was originally drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the sixth round of the 2001 NFL Draft. In 2003, Stewart played in 15 games (one start) where he recorded 17 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
Jonathan Reese carried the ball a team-high 29 times for 123 yards in the 2004 preseason.
