Having failed to ink SS John Lynch, the Jets turned their attention to another veteran - SS Reggie Tongue. According to ESPN News, on Monday the New York Jets signed Tongue, 30, to a 4-year contract worth of a total of $5.36M, which includes a $1.1M signing bonus.
In eight NFL seasons (four with Kansas City and four with Seattle) Reggie Tongue has played in 125 games (98 starts), made 538 tackles (421 solo), recorded 9.5 sacks, 11 forced fumbles, and intercepted 14 passes. Tongue has also scored three defensive touchdowns.
