According to ESPN and the Star Ledger, QB Chad Pennington is reportedly telling those close to him that he does not think he will play Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens, opening the door for QB Kellen Clemens to get his first start.
Pennington suffered an ankle injury in the third quarter of the season opener against the New England Patriots. The Jets have been mum on the injury details. Kellen Clemens completed 5 of 10 passes for a total of 35 yards against the Patriots.
In other news, the Gang Green extended RG Brandon Moore's contract through 2013. According to an NFL source, Moore received a $1M raise, which is exactly what the Jets refused to give OG Pete Kendall whom they traded to Washington. The base salaries for the three seasons of the extension are $2M (2011), $1.75M (2012), and $1M (2013).
