Hundreds of New York Jets fans gathered in Times Square earlier today for a playoff pep rally ahead of the AFC Championship Game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Fireman Ed fired up the crowd with the J-E-T-S chant, and was followed by Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who was greeted by boos and "plow our streets" chants.
"This Sunday all New Yorkers — Jets fans, Giants fans, even Dallas Cowboy fans — are for the Jets. Everybody is for the Jets!" Sen. Schumer said, with a fist pump. "Ben Roethlisberger is going to have an easier time finding a receiver in crowded Times Square on New Year’s Eve than he is on Sunday when he gets marooned on Revis island."
The New York Jets Flight Crew cheerleaders performed two short dance routines. Then, former Jets DL Marty Lyons took the stage along with S Jim Leonhard and NT Kris Jenkins.
